Sientific research creates the future, IEMAI 3D provides ‘power’

Technological innovation is the first driving force for development and an important manifestation of the country’s future competitiveness. Additive manufacturing is one of the key in development of current technology, China’s additive manufacturing needs rapid development to reach the international leading level. Therefore, basic research in the field of additive manufacturing is extremely important for the enterprises, universities and scientific research institution.       

IEMAI 3D has always focusing on basic research, it has developed more than 10 printers in the past five years, including the industrialized  high-temperature printers, large-size printers, luminous character printers, shoe upper printers, high-flow printers, and etcetera;  application which at its  incubating phase such as circuit printers, indirect metal printers, particle printers, automatic filling printers and etcetera; we are also one of the earliest companies in China to develop and produce our own PEEK, CF-PEEK , PEI and PPSU 3D printing filament. We had also introduced 3D printing materials that can block light source;  in term of software, we have  launched our own 2D to 3D slicing software as well as the cloud conversion software, we work with customers to complete the whole program development from 3D scanning to transmission, and then to slicing and printing. At present, we have also done many function verifications focusing on the firmware, these will be seen on our new products.

The development of 3D printing materials relying solely on the basic research of most enterprises is still relatively weak after all. In the research of functional materials, we needs to interact with universities and plan the direction for the future development of the industry. This time, we had launched a full-process solution of experimental grade granulator + extruder + 3D printer + process guidance. Relying on upstream and downstream resources, we can provide the pure raw materials, composite raw materials and filament extrusion process training; material formulation adjustment and the guidance of pelletizing extrusion; and aslo the multi-module high temperature 3D printer is able to create different conditions for your material testing, such as constant temperature, extended melting section, large flow, heat radiation and etcetra

   Experimental Equipment: Granulation + Extrusion + Printing


This is an experimental-level material scientific research project; it covers a small area, which only required 4m x 2m site for a filament extruder and a 3D printer. If a pelletizer is added, a 7m x 3m venue is required.

The launch of this project is to gather more and more scientific research forces to develop 3D printing materials based on the principle of hot melt extrusion technology. Currently, IEMAI 3D can support 3D printing and extrusion of raw materials such as PEEK, PEKK, PEI, PPSU, PA, PC, ABS, PETG, PLA, and etcetera.  It also supports fiber reinforcement of above materials, mainly carbon fiber and glass fiber. In addition, from the market perspective, subdivision demand of different polymer materials are also having great scientific significance, such as light shielding, electrostatic protection, flame retardant, glass state adjustment and so on.

In fact, it takes a lot of time and energy to do basic research on materials, especially that  this material needs to match the 3D printing process. Hence, companies and scientific research institutions required to maintain in-depth communication and cooperation with one another. In the future , IEMAI 3D will set up a specialized testing procedure to match scientific research units.
