IEMAI 3D Printed GF-PEEK

This glass fiber reinforced material has higher mechanical strength and rigidity when compared to unfilled PEEK. This glass-filled PEEK also achieves increased creep strength and dimensional stability. These characteristics make this material suited for use in parts that are subjected to heavy static stresses for extended periods of time in hot environments. GF-PEEK is less suitable for bearing or wear applications because glass fibers can occasionally have a noticeable abrasive effect on mating surfaces.

  • improved toughness
  • inherent flame retardant
  • very high creep resistant
  • good chemical resistance
  • hydrolysis and superheated steam resistant
  • very high stiffness
  • high dimensional stability
  • resistance against high energy radiation

The expansion rate of glass filled PEEK has been greatly decreased by the use of glass fibers for reinforcement. It is therefore perfect for applications that call for increased stiffness, stability, and strength at temperatures above 300 °F. It is offered in a natural color in rod and plate forms.

GF-PEEK has outstanding resistance to high doses of gamma radiation, excellent chemical resistance, and is insoluble in all typical solvents. Like all PEEK grades, GF-PEEK has a very low moisture absorption rate, limited thermal expansion, and great thermal stability.
